Rtn. Raghuvir (also known as Manguirish) Sole Proprietor of Kuvelkar Salkar Associates (KSA) which is engaged in providing engineering and architectural design consultancy services since 1995. He is also a Partner in Kuvelkar Salkar Associates LLP since 2021. Rtn. Raghuvir joined the Rotary Club of Porvorim in RID 3170 in 2004. There he served as a Treasurer and Director – International Service before joining the Rotary Club of Panaji in 2009 where he held the position of Director – International Service. Rtn. Raghuvir holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in civil engineering from Bombay University, a Master of Engineering degree in structural engineering from University of Poona, and a Doctorate degree in civil engineering with specialization in structures from the University of Maine, USA. His doctoral research was sponsored by the prestigious National Science Foundation of the USA. Some of the findings of his pathbreaking research were adopted in the US Steel Design Codes, once in 1997 and later in 2016. Rtn. Raghuvir’s design firms provide services throughout India and presently has projects in Telangana, Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Himanchal Pradesh and West Bengal. KSA has designed project abroad in Bangladesh, Indonesia, Ivory Coast, and the Philippines. He is a Charter Member of the Institution of Engineers, a member of Engineering Council of India, American Concrete Institute, and the American Institute of Steel Construction. He was a member of the team appointed by the Asian Development Bank to study the problem of shore erosion on the west coast of India. He has also served as a Member of Campus Development Committee of Goa Institute of Management for several years. Rtn. Raghuvir is married to Ann Sunita who holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronic and Telecommunications from Bombay University, and the couple is blessed with two sons, Abhishek- a structural engineer from the University of California at Berkely, USA and Kalyan (also known as Kartik)- a Computer Engineer from Purdue University, USA who is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at Georgia Institute of Technology, USA.
